What makes a tiny house road-legal
To tow a tiny house on public roads without special permits, it has to stay within standard legal limits: typically up to 8.5 feet wide, around 13.5 feet tall, and within the weight your trailer and tow vehicle are rated for. Build outside those numbers and you enter oversize-load territory, which means permits, escorts and route restrictions.

Relocatable, but still a real home
The appeal of a THOW is freedom: you can place it on rented land, move it closer to family, or take it to a new region without selling and rebuilding. Because it stays on its trailer, it is usually classified differently from a foundation home, which can simplify some local rules.
None of that comes at the cost of livability. Inside you get a full kitchen, a proper bathroom with a shower, a sleeping loft or main-floor bedroom, and heating built for four seasons — the same standard as our foundation homes.
