The insulation and comfort challenge
Steel conducts heat and cold extremely well, which is the opposite of what you want in a home. Without serious insulation, containers swing hot in summer and cold in winter, and the temperature difference between warm interior air and cold steel drives condensation inside the walls — a recipe for moisture, mold and corrosion over time.
